This site presents a variety of
opinions on topics related to affirmative action. It also provides articles
and analyses, policy documents, legislative updates, and bibliography. It is a
project of the English department at the University of California at Santa
Barbara.
American Institute for
Managing Diversity
AIMD is an organization that
specializes in research and education in the area of diversity management.
In
addition to resources and educational services, this site provides research
data and reports oriented to implementing constructive and intentional change
in a variety of social and business environments. The organization works from
the premise that the task before a multicultural and multiethnic society is
"anticipating, understanding, and managing" the issues and dynamics that are
manifest in multicultural environments. A similar organization worth exploring
for resources is the National
MultiCultural Institute.
AntiRacismNet
This site is an internet community, an association of persons
who are committed to staying abreast of local and global developments on
matters having a bearing on race and racism. There are news accounts, reports,
and action alerts on the site.
Anti-Racism Resource
Center
The issues, problems and situations faced by Latino/a Americans are the
subject of this site. The purpose of the center is to encourage awareness,
education, and information as the principle tools to combat racism. When last
viewed, this site was still under construction and some of the links and
resources were not yet in place. But this will be an important cyberspace
resource.
Beyond Prejudice
Interactive web site with information and materials on reducing prejudicial
behavior. "Beyond Prejudice" is a training program.

Anti-Racism – USA
This site is a significant collection of links to other web
sites. Some of the types of sites linked are related to anti-racism,
immigration and indigenous peoples issues, human rights, disability,
gay/lesbian, and women's concerns, and the Jewish experience of the Holocaust.
Ethics Updates: Race/Racism,
Multiculturalism and Ethnicity
This
site contains resource materials, bibliography, and full-text literature on race,
ethnicity and multiculturalism. There are also links to articles and other
publications on matters dealing with social and political aspects of racism
and human rights, including Supreme Court decisions. The site also has audio.
However, it is not updated frequently.
Facing History and
Ourselves
The
mission of this organization is to engage persons from a variety of
backgrounds in the examination of racism and prejudice. Emphasis is on the
historical development of the sociopolitical and cultural worlds represented
in United States. The premise of the organization is that persons must be
educated for democracy, and dealing with our history as a nation is vital to
recognizing and affirming meaning and value in our present. The site contains
a rich variety of resource materials and online documents.
Race and Ethnicity
This web site
contains an extensive collection of articles, reviews, essays and poetry
dealing with issues of race and ethnicity in the U.S. Most of these are
full-text documents, and some of them appear only here at this site. There are
also links to other similar sites.

Relations – About.Com
The web site on race relations at About.Com is a very well
organized collection of links to vast array of sites. The site is organized as
a kind of library with subject headings ranging from affirmative action and
racial profiling to immigration and white privilege.
Speakout.Com – Race
Relations
Speakout.Com is an internet forum for discussion and debate on
a wide variety of topics, one of which is race relations. The site contains
news accounts and links to other sites dealing with race and racism. The
purpose of the site is to promote discussion and activism.
Study
Circles Resource Center
SCRC is a venture in promoting and facilitating the study of community issues
related to diversity and multiculturalism. The organization publishes a set of
curricula for study groups, all of which is oriented to equipping persons to
make a difference in their communities. Study Circles are current in many
American cities and browsers to this site will find an abundance of resources
to assist in getting the conversation started.
Tolerance.Org – Fight Hate
and Promote Tolerance
Tolerance.Org is actually a project of the
Southern Poverty Law Center.
The purpose of this organization is to educate and encourage persons to
contest against hate and promote tolerance in homes, schools, businesses and
larger communities. Visitors to this site will find information, news and
resources to assist persons in teaching tolerance in many arenas.
White
Privilege - Peggy McIntosh
One
of the most significant articles on the advantages of whiteness to come along
was written by Peggy McIntosh as a "working paper." This essay was first
presented in 1986 as "White
Privilege and Male Privilege." An excerpted version of this essay, entitled
"White
Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack" is available on the University
of Toronto web site.
Another version can be found
in the "Diversity Resource Action Packet" at the web site of the diversity program of the
City of Spokane, where it is gathered with other resource materials on
anti-racism and human rights.
